We are expecting our third baby this spring! It is so much more fun when you are expecting when you have a toddler. Little big sister is the most excited!

One of the first inklings I was pregnant this time was my mom jeans wouldn’t button with ease like they had the week before. Which I didn’t really put that much thought into, because of the “covid-19”, haha. It seems after that all the other signs of pregnancy came rolling in–including morning sickness.

One of the first things I bought for this pregnancy was new pants! I had given away all of my maternity clothes from my last time around. So I was starting over! I wanted to be smart about my purchases, because 1.) I don’t want to keep buying/not get many wears out of each item. 2.) Pregnancy and post-partum is a short season of life. 3.) Expecting a spring baby in Chicagoland means it will be chilly the whole gestation, ha. I decided a capsule wardrobe would be the best option for me!

I love to be organized so this was no different than anything else for me. I set out to make a capsule that would be long lasting.

I first started with my favorite maternity item: DRESSES!

Comfort is key for me especially this time around with a toddler! My second pregnancy my oldest was nine so there wasn’t much getting on the floor to play. I also really like the effortlessly chic look–so I kept it simple!

Next, shoes. I love shoes!

I don’t mind a small heel. I know, maybe a little crazy, but that little pop makes your butt look 20% better, IMO. Sticking with the idea of comfort–most of the options are flat. I believe a bougie tennis shoes can always be appreciated, a little sparkle or animal print is perfection, Mama!

Jeans/Bottoms:

I love that any of the tops/dresses go with these bottoms. Being pregnant nowadays doesn’t mean we can’t stay on trend! I am so glad it isn’t the ’80s anymore, am I right?! A couple pairs of jeans can go a long way. Every pair listed above are super comfy!

Lounge wear:

What is a maternity capsule without a few comfortable lounge pieces? 😉

Tops/Sweaters:

I wanted to provide lots of options when it came to tops, because we all carry differently and our bodies are going to keep changing.

Outerwear:

I am working from home right now and like most of us I am required to get on a zoom every once in a while. I am the queen of the zoom mullet, of course included a couple of blazers.

Last up-Layering:

Layers pull any and every outfit together. Remember ladies, leopard is a neutral!

It is easy for me to appreciate what my body is doing: GROWING a human, but I don’t always feel I look good. I believed I picked flattering pieces for every body type! If you pick any of these items share with me on Instagram @CherrisseInChicago
